GENERAL INFO
The 3rd annual Daytona Beach Half Marathon
will be held on Sunday morning, October 31, 2010. The course
features an out and back route, with the start and finish
lines located at historic Daytona International Speedway,
home of the largest and most prestigious NASCAR race in the
world, the DAYTONA 500.
This website includes all the details you
need to know as we begin a new racing tradition in Daytona
Beach.
DATE, LOCATION & TIME
The Daytona Beach Half Marathon is scheduled
for Sunday, October 31, 2010.
Run Start: 7:00 a.m. Awards: 10:00 a.m.
STAGING AND START CORRALS
There will be no starting corrals. Faster
runners are encouraged to line up as close to the start line
as possible.
POST-RACE PARTY
Athletes
will enjoy complimentary food and drinks while
checking out sponsor booths and cheering on their fellow finishers.
AGE GROUPS AND AWARDS
All finishers will receive a race medal at
the finish line. The top
three overall male and female finishers will receive awards,
and checkered flags will be presented to the top three male and female
positions in each of the following age divisions:
19 and under
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55-59
60-64
65-69
70+
Awards and results will be based on "Gun Time" (order of finish). Chip time (net time) will be recorded and provided for the benefit of the runners. Alta Vista Sports will be the official timer for the Daytona Beach Half Marathon for the second year in a row. Last year’s results are available by clicking HERE.
WEATHER
The average weather historically on October 31 in Daytona Beach is a high of 80 degrees and a low of 63. The race starts at 7 a.m., which should provide comfortable running conditions for a Halloween morning in Central Florida. |
